Situated just to the southeast of Nieuwpoort, private property constraints limit this site to boat diving. It's usually a rough ride, so if you suffer from motion sickness don"t forget your (non-drowsy) meds. The boat ride is fantastic, however, offering great views of the fairytale blue waters, the undeveloped east side, and with some luck a pod of dolphins playing in the wake. This area is rarely visited by fishermen or divers, and the pristine condition of the reef reflects its scarce use.
There is usually some current and wave action present, but on a calm day the shallows are great for snorkelers, with an abundance of Gorgonians and Elkhorn Coral, and large schools of Needlefish and Creole Wrasse. The mooring buoy is fixed on the terrace in 25 feet of water about 100 feet north of the drop-off. The wall falls fairly steeply from 30 feet down below 120 feet. The reef is in great condition, with Brain Coral, Flower Coral, Star Coral, Elephant Ear Sponges, and a good variety of Gorgonians competing for space. The fish life is also abundant, including Jacks, Flounder, Goatfish, Soldierfish, and numerous Morays. This is a good spot for both wide angle and macro lenses.
