Description

This impressive dive site is located just northwest of Lagun Blanku (White Lagoon) at the southeast end of Curacao. Surrounded by private property it is only accessible by boat, an often rough but always spectacular voyage. The site is directly exposed to the trade winds, and divers should expect significant swells and current. On calm days there is good snorkeling along the plateau, with abundant Gorgonians and some smaller examples of Stony Corals interspersed with the sand.

The mooring buoy is in 20 feet of water, close to the drop-off, which drops beneath 130 feet. Look for nice specimens of Brain Coral, Fire Coral, and Staghorn Coral. Fish life is abundant here, with Yellowtail Snappers, Hogfish, and Soldierfish living among the reef, as well as larger fish like Barracuda and Tuna cruising the wall. Also look for the old anchor, close to the buoy and mostly hidden by the encrusting reef life at a depth of 18 feet. This is a good site for both macro and wide angle photography. If you suffer from motion sickness, don’t leave home without your meds!
