Chances are you will want to sail the catamaran yourself.  With its stability and easy handling you will be piloting the craft before you know it! Many students have succeeded in becoming catamaran and keeled boat owners after taking our Introduction to Catamaran sailing courses. We intend to have you piloting a catamaran without assistance after 3 lessons.

Curaçao's popular Introduction to Catamaran Sailing consists of three 1.5 hour modules. Our patient and personable instructors are passionate about sailing and love to pass on the joy of 'flying across the water' to their students. You will learn how to launch, tack, jibe and dock and will take the helm in very little time. Once the basics are covered and you are in control of the craft, you will be instructed on ocean conditions and boat behaviour.

Basic course: An introduction to Cat Sailing on sea. You are taught the basic sailing techniques and will be able to sail the catamaran with the aid of an instructor. Primarily, we focus on the relationship between the wind and the sail trim and the tacking and jibing manoeuvres.

Advance 1: Advanced course Cat Sailing on sea. You will be able to control the cat under supervision of the instructor. Exercises (amongst others) include docking and launching, beating to windward, heavy weather sailing and man over-board manoeuvres

Advance 2: The Cat Solo course is aimed at learning the technique that is necessary to sail the cat on sea and to perform all the manoeuvres without an instructor. Safety exercises are done like capsizing and redirecting the catamaran.
