The Christoffel National Park is one of Curacao's shining jewels and should top anyone's list of natural attractions to visit whilst on Curacao!  Encompassing three former plantations (Savonet, Zevenbergen, and Zorgvlied) the park took shape in the early 1970's and opened its doors to the public in 1978 with 4,500 protected acres (1821 hectares/18 km2).

The highlight of the tour is the hike to the top of Mt. Christoffel at 1240 ft (370m) where you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of both sides of the island and other distant plantations. All of our tours are flexible and can be readily customized to suit your specific needs.

• Cruise tourists will be picked up at their dock of berthing: You will be allowed to disembark the ship approx half an hour after docking. At a pre-arranged time your guide will be waiting for you at the meeting point. Of course the guide will wait on you if there are any delays and we will adjust the tour to fit the time available. Once you have booked your tour, you will receive detailed instructions on how to reach the meeting point and how to recognize your guide! If your cruise ship doesn't dock at all, we will refund your payment. Cruise passengers will be dropped off at their dock of berthing at least 1 hour before departure of the ship. 

This full day tour will last from 07.30 hours till 14.30 hours (for cruise passengers the timing is an approximation).

You will be picked up from your accommodation, dock or location of choice.

The first stop is the ruins of the Zorgvlied plantation, where candle cactus now grow from the walls. The remains of a large slave pole are a harsh reminder of the cruel punishments and inhumane treatment awaiting any slave caught loafing.

We drive to the base of Mt. Christoffel where we commence the hours climb, along a winding walking trail, stopping at ragular intervals to exercise your camera finger, to the peak. Your guide will talk about the unique flora and fauna on the way, like the humboldt's orchid and the famous dividivi tree. And we may even catch a glimpse of the rare Curacao white-tailed deer.

At the top we will rest for about half an hour to give you enough time to take in the view before returning to base camp for a quiet shaded picnic lunch. 

Following lunch we will visit the Savonet Plantation House. Built in 1645 Savonet is among the oldest and largest plantations on Curacao. A small on-site museum provides a photo gallery of the plantations’ more recent history, as well as two impressive complete whale skeletons. 

The tour ends and you will be returned to your accommodation, cruise terminal or location of choice.
